How could i describe the society in this is book. It leaves me speechless because everything Huxley talks about is just so unique but scary. How did he ever thought of it? Lol..so i wonder..Anywho, back to the subject. I think the society brings out a whole new different nature of human beings because if you duplicated a cell into 80 similar human beings, it is like having a huge army. Imagine having your genes spread into a society and you are no longer original but the same as every human that has your DNA, now that can be pretty freaky. Honestly, I do not like it at all and I don't think it's going to improve our world today. To scare a child from books and beautiful flowers is very unpleasant, and if it continues then our future is going to look very unappealing. Even the thought of having all the naked children playing in your backyard sounds erotic and inappropriate. Even though the director in the novel showed the students that this kind of "fore play" is necessary i find it disgusting because they are such a young age to do erotic activities with other children. NOBODY wants there daughter or son to do that kind of stuff today, unless your parents are odd then okaaaaayyyy....goodluck with that ..HAR HAR HAR!(awkward). So with the idea of Huxley trying to make a "better" world, you can conclude that there are some positives and negatives. The plus side is that we can reproduce humans at a good amount of numbers; however, the bad thing is that the outcome of all of it could be devastating and all of our pleasures could disappear slowly until there is none. What pleasures? The pleasures of loving nature and what GOD lead us to believe, instead of being labeled something before you were even born and being told lies about the history and having your emotions manipulated along with brainwashing is just overwhelming!!!! SHHOOOTTT i luv blogging! Okay back to the topic, there is obviously a noticeable fact that our society is different from the novel and when they switched point of views three times in chapter 3 I think it was to show how their society was like and how teens dealt with their romance. Not only that but it didn't surprise me to see Bernard stand out as a rebel because every novel like this usually has an oddball. Disagreeing with everyone is pretty tough, hey maybe Bernard might turn out to be like Winston and they are going to brainwash him....that was just a thought. But it could happen so just keep that in mind. The brave new world or our world today????? I prefer *my* world and I hope you do to!!!!!!!!!!! =)

PAMCAKES!
ReplyDeleteChica your blog made me laugh! I totally agree with you this community is crazy and wack! I liked it when you talked about taking away books, beauty, and fun from children it is like taking away there childhood. I can't even begin to describe and image how my childhood would have been with out those things.. can you? The part when you talked about "erotic activities" made me laugh but being on a serious note, I think it is too inappropriate and wrong for children this young to engage in these kind of activities. Ummm OH about the twist in chapter three i think your on to something..... I really didn't think of that until now.
:)
PAM BAM!!! haha. Yes I love how your blogs make me giggle =) your tooo funnny. well anyways...I loved how you used rhetorical questions in your statement to creat a view point in yours and the readers' perspective. I also enjoyed how you related the story to how a person's life in the present time would have been. I can totally relate! I think it is horrid to think about if our society was actually like Brave New World. Living without parents and having eighty people look and act exactly like you is insane and just plain wrong. Individuality is a major importance and you brought that out strongly in your beliefs! Gooooood Joooobbb =)
